On 10th of May, the Open Knowledge Ireland in collaboration with the BaleFire Global is organising the free course: “Open Data in a (half) Day”; but, what is Open Data? Open data are data that can be used, reused and redistributed freely by anyone, that means data availability and access, reuse and redistribution and universal participation.

This course aims to get you up to speed with latest developments in open data and its significance. Anyone who is interested in open data and wants to know more about this subject can be part of this course which is designed to get started with discovering and using open data and understand the skills and processes required to make it work for you and your organisation.

The course will cover:

  • Introduction to open data

    • What is open data?
    • What are the potential applications, benefits and risks?
    • Open data licenses
  • Motivation to open data

    • How does open data help you
    • What is the future for open data?
  • OGP and ODI
