Mobile test automation with Appium

With the question after our January session on mobile test automation, we decided a session with python, pytest and appium, and a new fun mobile application as test target would teach us something important. We stay on the basics / getting started level, but are happy to take more advanced questions too as mobile automation is Ru's specialty!

In this session, we look at getting started with automation on GUI level in Python. Scope of tools for this session is:

• programming language: Python
• mobile app control: Appium
• test runner: pytest
• structuring tests and test suites

We start with the tools set up, and write the code in a modified ensemble. While this session focuses on first experience and overview, we'll run sessions throughout 2022 to deepen the knowledge on what you can do with these and what other tools the Python ecosystem makes easily available for us.
