Getting Started with Test Automation in Python
Finland has buzzed over Robot Framework as a simple way to get started with automation and becoming automation specialist. As motivation to this session, we believe removing Robot Framework as a layer and going Python gives us the same easy start, less rocky road and foundation and opportunities for better growth. Options are necessary, even beneficial.
In this session, we look at getting started with automation on GUI level in Python. Scope of tools for this session is:
- programming language: Python
- browser control: Playwright
- test runner: pytest
- reports: Allure
- tests as English: pytest-bdd
We start with the tools set up, and write the code in an ensemble. While this session focuses on first experience and overview, we'll run sessions throughout 2022 to deepen the knowledge on what you can do with these and what other tools the Python ecosystem makes easily available for us.
