Athena Swan Seminar

Professor Karen McCloskey has been invited to speak at this year's University of Galway Athena SWAN Seminar. Professor McCloskey, Athena SWAN Chair at Queen's University Belfast (QUB), will share insights into QUB’s journey toward achieving the prestigious Gold Athena SWAN accreditation in January 2024. She will discuss the strategies, challenges, and successes in advancing gender equality and diversity within academia, offering valuable lessons learned along the way. This event provides a unique opportunity for the University of Galway to gain inspiration from QUB’s efforts in creating a more inclusive and equitable academic environment, as we prepare to apply for a Silver Athena SWAN award in Q2 2025.
