Nuffield Ireland 2023 Conference - Finding Common Ground
We look forward to welcoming you to our 2023 Conference, sponsored by our Premium Investor FBD Trust, **to be opened by Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture Pippa Hackett.**
Our event will also be the occasion to pay homage to the memory of our sadly departed pioneering Scholar Padraig Walshe, with the introduction of our Padraig Walshe Award, and a fireside chat reviewing his powerful legacy of agricultural leadership with his friends Matt Ryan and Matt O'Keeffe.
Of course, our 2022 Scholars Pat Collins, David Dolan, Aoife Feeney and Lance Woods will deliver their reports after completion of their two-year research and travel programmes. The best presentation on the day, as voted by the audience, will win the first Padraig Walshe Award.
Attendees will also hear updates from our 2023 Scholars Bryan Daniels, Margaret Edgill, David Fennelly, Tommy Murray, Liagh Whelehan and Gillian Willis.
We will get to meet for the first time our four newly recruited 2024 Scholars Molly Garvey, Niall Hurson, John Keane and Michael Martin, and reacquaint themselves with Nick Cotter, deferred from 2022.
We are particularly excited to introduce our keynote speaker Amy Jackson, Nuffield UK 2012 Scholar and Director of Oxtale, Issues and Crisis Management Consultant. Amy is a researcher in public attitudes towards farming and will challenge us on the theme of Finding Common Ground. After the Conference, we hope you will choose to stay with us for our banquet, to network with some of our 119 Scholars and Alumni, our Investor representatives and other agri-food stakeholders.
Don’t delay, places are limited!
