10.25 Presentations of scholar reports by the 2018 scholars – Chair: Amii Mc Keever (2011 Scholar) • Joe Lyng “Value in the Marketplace for Grass-Fed Dairy Products”. • Klaus Laitenberger “The potential of growing Yacon and other Lost Crops of the Incas and Jerusalem Artichoke as crops and functional foods in Ireland”. • Colm O’Leary “Farmer Led Animal Welfare; An Opportunity for the Irish Livestock Industry”.

11.30 Panel Discussion: An expert panel consisting of Brendan Gleeson, Secretary General of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Prof Alan Matthews, Trinity College, Dublin and Prof Alice Stanton, Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and Devenish Nutrition, will address the theme ‘Agriculture’s role is growing a healthy, sustainable society’. The aim is to challenge the Nuffield community to consider and act on sustainability initiatives to balance their relatively intensive agriculture systems. – Panel Chair: Karen Brosnan (2013 Scholar)
