NSO Concert: Bernstein, Bax, and Prokofiev

Bernstein's adaptation of his music for West Side Story for the concert hall creates a vibrant and infectiously rhythmical suite of dances, which we are excited to peform for you.  Dance is also the theme of the final of Prokofiev's Violin Concerto no 2 which closes the first half of the concert with a colourful waltz. In contrast, we bring the concert to a close with Arnold Bax's brooding and atmospheric first Symphony.
