Nodebots Day DC 2014

NodeBots are robots that are controlled by node.js. A NodeBots event is a full day event where JS developers team up in groups with soldering guns and parts nearby to create amazing robotic devices.

Knowledge of Node, Javascript and Robots is OPTIONAL. There will be people around to help you out.

Check List for SUNDAY

  1. Do you have node installed on a laptop you can bring?
  2. Do you have hardware to hack on?
  3. Do you know where you're going?

We will be getting started at 10am with doors opening at 9:30. The first 25 people will get a free tee-shirt. The event goes till 6pm and lunch will be provided by Fluencia!

If you have your own hardware and are just looking to have a dedicated time to hack away, this ticket is for you!

What To Expect

The day will start at 10am with a short overview of how to get a node bot started. In this overview we will all put together the "hello world" of Nodebots, the blinking LED.

After this we will open up into a free work time where you can hack away at any project you can dream up.

Around lunch time lunch will be served thanks to our hosts and sponsors Fluencia.

At 4pm anyone who wants to compete with others creations in the first ever DC Robot-Pull, can do so.

At 5pm we'll have a quick time for sharing, so that you can show off your sweet project and than clean up the place.

What to Bring

  1. A computer with node installed
  2. A microcontroller such as:
  3. Parts (take a look down the page for a list of kits)
  4. Lots of IDEAS!

Kits to make making more straight forward

Here is a list of kits you might want to look into getting for Nodebots Day. Kits are a great way to get started with Microcontrollers as they often come with project books designed about the parts provided in the kit.
