Date and time

  • Saturday May 27th 0900-1800 then pub
  • Sunday May 28th 0900-1700ish
(please note this is not an overnight event)
    Venue: 230 City Road, London E1CV 2QY

Food

We'll provide lunch and drinks both days: there will be a range of teas, coffee and non-caffeinated drinks, plus healthy omni and vegetarian food. Please get in touch with Helen (helenj@ckson.io / @DeckOfPandas) if you have any further requirements.

Access

There is step-free access throughout including from the street and to the toilets and kitchen. All doors are wide enough for a wheelchair to pass through. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help accommodate you.

Can't make it?

If you find you can't make the event after all, we'll be sad, but please please please tell us in advance so we don't waste food (and can offer your place to someone else).

Pre-weekend socialising

Pub

  • We're planning to go and sit in The Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, EC1N 7TR (https://goo.gl/maps/RdvaGfXCzYx) for the evening from 6pm, Wednesday 24th May. Join us?

Slack

  • We have set up a Slack team just for this event so teams can communicate more easily, and maybe even discuss ideas before the weekend itself. Please sign up if you're interested.
  • Email addresses won't be displayed
  • The team will be deleted within 24h of the end of the event, so please don't leave any work on there

Outline

A rough plan for the days is as follows:

Saturday

  • 0900: Arrive, mingle, find drinks
  • Short pitches where people can describe ideas for things that might be interesting to work on
  • Mingle, form groups, get to work
  • 1300: Lunch
  • 1500 Quick stand-up round the room to let everyone else know what you're up to and/or ask for anything you need
  • 1800: Leave and close venue
    Social event tbc

Sunday

  • 0900: Arrive
  • 1300: Lunch
  • 1500: Short presentations where we show off what we've been doing, Q&As
  • 1700ish: Fin

What to bring with you

  • An idea (not mandatory at all)
  • A computer if you have one
  • Any demos or hardware etc you might want to work with
  • Extension cords / n-gang sockets: we have lots of these, but there are never enough

Venue and housekeeping

  • The venue is a dedicated event space on the ground floor of an office. We will be swiped in and out by the resident company at the beginning and end of each day (but they won't be there during the event), between which one of us will need to buzz you in.
  • There is secure bicycle parking in the event foyer.
  • Children are of course welcome, but unfortunately we do not have the capacity to offer childcare or a creche.
  • Anyone who runs round with a binbag every so often will be Helen's new favourite thing.
