New Tech Coffee Hour (8am on Thursday 6/17)

We’re excited to announce a free new virtual networking series, The New Tech Coffee Hour! …which is actually a little longer than an hour unless you want to bail sooner to get to a meeting or something important. Either way, we’re cool with it and happy to have you join for however long it works for you.

A lot of people are still going to be working from home for the foreseeable future. The whole point of this is to have a way for the community to share with each other, and target your networking with the kinds of folks you want to connect with. The first New Tech Coffee Hour will be from 8am-9:15am PDT on June 3rd, so put it on your calendar and get your day started off on the right foot.

Yes, we’re all burnt out on Zoom and Teams calls and Seattle is starting to kinda open back up, but what everyone misses the most is connection. New Tech has been a PNW beacon for creating a neighborhood vibe with fun, cool, interesting techies in our community for over 8 years and here’s one of the post-pandemic ways we’ll roll forward together.

Why spend 30-75 minutes with your New Tech community online bi-weekly?

• It’s fun and will lift your spirits
• Everyone loves coffee (or tea) and conversation, right?
• What else will you do at 8am that will make you smile, laugh, and learn? Seriously.
• Did we mention it’s free?

Here’s how it works:

For a half hour we’re going to bring some current event tech or Seattle topics to spur the conversation on. (Things like what’s happening with blockchain, what do you think of the newest latest gadgets, why are so many Seattle startups moving to Bellevue, or whether Elon Musk is good or bad for the world). You and your fellow New Techies are going to share your thoughts, opinions, questions, ideas about these topics or throw ’em out and give us your own burning questions to discuss with your community.

Then for 45 minutes we’ll have 1 on 1 networking. What’s special about this is that we’re using a video networking tool that allows you to curate keywords about yourself and connect to the kinds of people you’re looking for! Huzzah!

Agenda:

8am-8:30am: New Tech Coffee Conversations. We’ll be discussing topics around what’s happening around Seattle tech and then everyone will have the opportunity to chime in with their thoughts, opinions, questions, and ideas.

8:30am-9:15am: 1 on 1 Networking with fun, neighborly, wonderful PNW techies. Meet new friends, connect with old ones, learn about jobs, events, books, and whatever else comes up when techie nerdy folks get together.
