Railsbridge Workshop for Women: Beginner and Intermediate Levels

Come learn how to make web applications with RailsBridge, at TechCube in Summerhall. RailsBridge is an outreach programme designed to get (amongst other groups) more women involved and knowledgeable about Tech.

Ruby on Rails is a web development framework favoured by many startups. Edinburgh RailsBridge will be taught be experienced Rails Developers involved in San Francisco Rails Bridge, including Rachel Myers, keynote at the Scottish Ruby Conference.

Location

RailsBridge is in TechCube, the small tower block in the Summerhall complex (formerly the Royal Dick Veterinary College). The TechCube entrance is signposted and on Summerhall Crescent (which becomes Causewayside).

Equipment

You will need a laptop. If you absolutely can't get hold off one, let us know and we'll see what we can sort out. You will need software installed on the computer. We will run an Installfest on the Friday evening, to get you up and running. This is compulsory - we cannot get through the curriculum on Saturday if you are not ready to go.

If you cannot make Friday evening (18:00 to 21:00), again let us know. We will try and arrange something else.

Course Times

9:00 am to 17:00 with one hour for lunch.
