The Digital Clinical Services at Moorfields Eye Hospital are so excited to #host our Hackathon weekend the Moorfields Hackday on 26-27 September 2026, 9am-5pm
Are you a clinician, healthcare worker with an idea or even a bug-bear you always thought “man I wish there is a #digital #solution to that?”
Do you have an idea or interest for an App, a wearable, digital solution, AI?
Are you a #designer , #coder, IT professional or software engineer that wants to try your hands on solving a tech problem in healthcare?
Are you a budding Healthtech entrepreneur ?
Or just someone passionate about innovation ?
If so, join us on this weekend event, in order to turn your problem into an innovation prototype!
The event is supported by Moorfields Eye Charity, and is free to attend.

The judges will be selecting:
Moorfields Hackday Champion -best overall prototype Launchpad Champion - the most launch-able prototype within 6 month Community favourite - voted by the Hackday attendees
There will be bragging rights, certificates, trophies and post-prototype support!

9.30 – 9.45: Welcome and coaching tips for pitching
9.45 – 10.30: Pitching begins!
10:30 - 12:00: Team formation
13:00 – 14.00: Lunch / drop in Cogniss no code platform workshop
14.00 – 16.45: Prototyping
16.45 – 17.00: Wrap up for the day
Day 2 – Sunday 27 September 2026
9.00 - 9.30: Registration and coffee
9:30- 13:00 - Hackathon projects prototyping continues
13:00 – 14.00: Lunch
14:00-14:30: Finalise presentations
14.30 – 16.30: Presentations and judging
16.30 – 17.00: Prize giving, and end of day!
Lunches, Drinks and Snacks will be provided for
both days
HOW TO PITCH
You will have 1 minute to describe the problem you would like to solve Focus on the issues, and problems you have observed, less on the 'solution' of what you think 'should be' done !
You can pitch multiple problems, no worries if you didn't pre-submit a pitch, you may be inspired on the day to step up to the mic!
