Lux Presents — Howells: Requiem (Georgetown, DC)

Although it was written in 1932, Herbert Howells’s Requiem was not performed until 1980. It has since been recognized as one of the finest and most moving pieces of western choral writing. Join us as we present this profound work, paired with selections like Caroline Shaw’s and the swallow, Benjamin Britten’s “Concord” (from Gloriana), Christopher Tin’s “The Saddest Noise” (from The Lost Birds), and other selections in this extraordinary concert on themes of love and loss.

This performance is sponsored by Christ Church Georgetown.
