Lothian Junior Championships 2019

The individual championships are open to children living in Lothians and the Borders only.

As well as the full day events, Lothian Junior Chess are also running a 'Taster Tournament'. This will be a miniature version of the main event, with just three rounds of games from 1pm. This is targeted at younger children and those who feel that to start straight into a six round event might be too big a first step. Entry for the taster is limited to P5 and under, and the players should not yet have a grading and have played in less than two of our events.

For everyone else - the event starts at 9:30am, with prize giving ending around 4:15pm.

For this event we are using online entries - this should ease congestion at the registration desk. You need to select your tickets, enter your payment details to pay and then provide information about the child (or children!) that you have entered.

Late entries (after 11pm on Monday the 25th of February) is £10. ALL ENTRIES BY FRIDAY 1st MARCH 11pm - EXTENDED to 9PM SATURDAY 2nd MARCH!

Children who receive free school meals for reasons of income, receive free entry, by using the discount code FSM

Chess Scotland paid members can claim a £1 discount, by using the code discount CSM. Membership is from £18.90 for a Junior and, amongst other benefits, gives you access to the full online grading information, including live grades. Details can be found here

Please note Name, Date of Birth, School or Club and results will be shared with Chess Scotland for grading (Chess Scotland Privacy Statement).
