Additional Information
The not-for-profit, Mozilla, has been on a journey to improve Firefox. Bursting out of its Research and Development division, initiatives in the form of Rust and Servo have matured to the point of consideration to production. In an effort to exemplify this head turning work the team at Firefox decided to do a bit of fox-fooding. Walking the walk as it were.
Since version 52 they've been integrating Servo into the central release channel by bringing Project Quantum into its core. These changes are massive! Earlier this Summer you might have seen stories how one person opened 1,692 tabs in under 15 seconds and lived to tell the tale. You guessed it, Project Quantum was behind that mind-boggling achievement.
In the production release of this version 57, due out November 14, Mozilla is making note of how utterly freaking awesome it is by naming this version Firefox Quantum
. Lights, lasers, coffee, code and some downright guts and determination have got us this far. This journey has only just started, and we need you to help us carry the Quantum flame.
Come join us testing this beast of a browser out. Quantum CSS (aka Stylo) is really special. PLUS we have all the best stickers! Yes!!
