Additional Information
In last year’s program two squads developed their concepts then went straight into production. They'll have their first feature film credits within 12 months.
During the Accelerator you’ll develop:
- a trailer
- a proof of concept video
- a full-length low-fi version of your film
- potential audiences
- industry connections
You don’t need a script to be part of this Accelerator but you do need a squad.
A squad is 3 or 4 multi-skilled people with all the talents required to make a film including writing, directing, acting, editing, shooting and producing.
At the end of the Accelerator your squad will be ready to go into production, start crowdfunding or use the process to develop more projects.
Prerequisites
To participate you'll need:
- Squad - 3 to 4 people with the combined talents, including acting, to make a film
- Filmmaking skills - members of your squad have produced short films or web series
- Concept - no script required, just a high level feature film idea
- Time - this is an intensive program that can be done around a day job but will require the bulk of your squad's spare time for 15 weeks.
The Accelerator has two stages:
Stage 1 (1 Week)
9 Aug - 14 Aug
(Limited to 10 squads.)
Tickets sold on first come, first served basis. No application process required providing the above prerequisites are met. This stage includes an weekend bootcamp where squads will create a proof of concept video.
Stage 2 (14 Weeks)
23 Aug - 22 Nov (Limited to 3 squads)
Entry into this stage is competitive. Tickets will be offered by invitation only. Squads will be chosen based on their performance in the bootcamp including teamwork, level of skill, openness to innovation and willingness to embrace feedback.
