Lab Lunch 1/10 — Ashlyn Sparrow from the Game Changer Chicago Design Lab

This week Knight Lab is excited to welcome Ashlyn Sparrow, Learning Technology Director and Game Designer at the Game Changer Chicago Design Lab. Game Changer Chicago, an initiative of the Center for Interdisciplinary Inquiry and Innovation in Sexual and Reproductive Health (Ci3) at the University of Chicago, pairs high school students from Chicago’s South Side with university staff, faculty, and fellows to create digital stories, transmedia games, and new media art projects. Ashlyn has designed games and interactive narratives that focus on exploring topics such as sexual reproductive health and economic issues in Chicago.

Ask Ashlyn about creating interactive experiences, her experience designing games in Portugal, and her approach to designing game characters.
