Ministering Effectively to People with Same-Sex Attraction

As pastors and leaders, how do we support believers and even our unbelieving friends that are wrestling with unwanted same-sex attraction (SSA)? What are the practical things we can do to help with understanding and sensitivity? Can there be freedom from unwanted SSA? If these are your questions and you are interested to learn more, then this course of the Israel Academy of Ministry (IAM) is for you. The course will be presented by John & Lindsay Greaves. They have been married for 30 years and have 5 children. They have both been victorious on the journey away from SSA. John's mother was a Sabra Israeli and so they have some knowledge of Israeli life. They are counselors in LivLife Liverpool UK, where individuals who are on the journey to freedom from SSA are supported in many ways. They also give help to those addicted to pornography and other similar addictive behaviors. This course is primarily aimed at pastors, official leaders and lay-leaders, and there will be opportunities to ask and discuss the difficult questions we face with SSA. The course will entail the following:

  • Roots and Causes of SSA
  • Replacing Personal Lies with Truth
  • Journaling as a Tool
  • Intimacy with the Lord; the Road and Destination

This course will be hosted November 11, 2019 from 5:00pm to 8:30pm in the Clal Building at 97 Jaffa Road in Jerusalem. The class will be taught in English; Hebrew translation will be available if previously requested. The tuition of this course is 75 NIS.
