SBD IRELAND All Ireland Championships

SBD Ireland presents the return of the All Ireland Championships will take place in Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan on the 6th and 7th of June, 2026.

This is a competition with two Divisions: National (GLP Based) and Open (Standard IPF Weight Divisions)

NATIONAL LEVEL DAY 1

This is a National Level Competition with a couple of twists:

  • podiums will be decided based on GLP ranking within the following divisions Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, Super-Heavyweight.
  • Lifters not only contribute points on the weekend to their province, they also extra team points for the 2026 Club League by representing the winning province and/or being in the National Division.

  • INVITE: Top 28 Female & Male lifters by GLP from the Qualifying Period
  • Qualifying Period: February Open 2025 - University Nationals 2026 - IrishPF Competitions or International Level representing IrishPF
  • Minimum GLP: 80 [Female] , 86 [Male]
  • Remaining tickets will go on general sale to anyone who meets the qualifying criteria [2026 Membership and hit required GLP in the qualifying period]. Your entry includes an event specific Custom Designed SBD T Shirt, kindly sponsored by SBD Ireland.
  • This is a National Level Competition, where records may be broken.
  • Podium will be awarded based on GLP within a weight division (see below). You will still select your weight class for record purposes and potential international selection.

Weight Divisions Lightweight 47kg & 52kg [Female] 59kg & 66kg [Male]

Middleweight 57kg & 63kg [Female] 74kg & 83kg [Male]

Heavyweight 69kg & 76kg [Female] 93kg & 105kg [Male]

Super-Heavyweight 84kg & 84+kg [Female] 120kg & 120+kg [Male]

Key Information

  • Full IPF Anti-Doping procedures will be in place
  • This event will be a qualifier for IrishPF Open Nationals 2026, University Nationals 2027, Bench Nationals 2027, Junior Nationals 2027, Masters Nationals 2027

Podium and Awards

Across the full weekend there will be an overall award to the Best Province. Lifters in both the Open and National Divisions will contribute team points to this award with National level points being weighted more

  • Point scoring for all Open Lifters shall be: 12, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2 points for the first nine places in any bodyweight category. Thereafter, each lifter who makes a total in the competition shall be awarded one point.
  • Point scoring for the National Division shall be 1.5x the points of the Open e.g. 18, 13.5, 12 etc
  • The point scores of the five best placed lifters of each province will be counted for the Best Province award. In case of a tie in points scored, final team placing shall be decided based on the higher number of 1st place podium finishes.

  • Final deadline for completing entry forms will be May 1st at 23:00 Irish time
  • Flight splits (i.e. “what flight am I in?”) will be confirmed by May 6th.
  • Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE, once registered to a lifter on the entry form will be valid for that lifter, and that lifter only. If you require changes to weight classes, you must email your request to competitions@irishpowerliftingfederation.com
