IrishPF University National and Open Championships 2026

The Irish Powerlifting Federation University National and Open Championships will take place in Castletroy Park Hotel, Limerick hosted by the UL Wolves, on the 7th and 8th of March 2026.

Entry Requirements

• Student of a third level institute
• Open Division: first time competitors, over 25 years old, no IrishPF total set in the qualifying period of February Open 2025 to December Open 2025, ineligible to compete internationally
• Nationals Division: not your first competition, under 25 years of age, have an IrishPF total set in the qualifying period of February Open 2025 to December Open 2025, eligible to compete at internationals (subject to selection criteria)
• 2026 membership of the IrishPF must be purchased to be eligible to buy a ticket. Membership can be found here.

Key Information

• Full IPF Anti-Doping procedures will be in place
• This event will be a qualifier for Masters Nationals 2026 and IrishPF Open Nationals 2026
• Open Division: All personal equipment must meet IPF specifications, but does not need to be on the IPF approved list. See here for more details. If you miss weight, you may lift as a guest but your total will not register points towards the Best Team Award.
• Nationals Division: All personal equipment must be on the IPF approved list (see link above). If you miss weight, you may not lift.
• Venue: Castletroy Park Hotel, Limerick
• Date: 7th & 8th of March 2026.
• You must complete the Entry Form after completing your purchase by clicking "Assign This Ticket"
• Final deadline for purchasing tickets, completing entry forms or making any changes will be 30th of January 2026 at 23:00 Irish time
• Flight splits (i.e. “what flight am I in?”) will not be confirmed until Wednesday 4th February.
• Please familiarise your with the IPF Rulebook especially the standards of lifting.
• Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE, once registered to a lifter on the entry form will be valid for that lifter, and that lifter only. If you require changes to weight classes, you must email your request to competitions@irishpowerliftingfederation.com
• Note: in the event you pull out of the competition after the final deadline, you will not be offered a refund. However, if the deadline has not passed, and there is an active waiting list, we will endeavour to sell your ticket to the waitlist and offer you a refund.
