From Identity to Inclusion: Strengthening Digital Public Services through Standards

InDiCo-Global Webinar Series

Digital transformation is only as strong as the standards that support it — and increasingly, governments are looking to international benchmarks to ensure security, interoperability, and inclusivity in their services.

In this fourth InDiCo-Global webinar, we explore two on-the-ground initiatives from Africa and Latin America that engage with the EU’s approach to digital identity and digital government as a point of reference for local action.

Debora Comparin will share her work on developing security guidelines for digital identity wallets in Africa, bridging regulatory gaps between the EU’s eIDAS framework and emerging continental trust frameworks. The aim: to build scalable, secure, and locally adaptable models that enable trusted cross-border digital identity solutions.

Julio Herrera, representing Red Ciudadana in Guatemala, will present efforts to strengthen digital government services through the adoption of European ICT standards — improving transparency, accessibility, and interoperability in public administration.
