The ICEL is delighted to organise this full-day conference in collaboration with our colleagues at Queen’s University Belfast to facilitate and stimulate meaningful dialogue on the complex legal issues facing Northern Ireland as Brexit negotiations intensify.

Topics addressed will include the future role of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, UK withdrawal Treaty and how to maintain the status quo and mirror existing rights, the role of a Bill of Rights in the Brexit context and the potential remedies that will be available in respect of enforcement and implementation in the withdrawal Treaty. There will also be a panel discussion on matters raised during the day with key stakeholders in the field. This event will bring together a range of leading experts from Ireland, Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom to discuss this complex and important aspect of current Brexit negotiations.

The event will take place on Wednesday, 9th May, 2018 at the Royal Irish Academy, Dawson Street, Dublin 2 from 9.45am (Registration from 9.15am) to 5.30pm.
