The ICEL is delighted to host a breakfast briefing analysing the recent deal on the the first phase of the Brexit negotiations. The Irish media have reported that the deal is the end of a hard Brexit that effectively keeps the UK in the Single Market. The UK papers, including the eurosceptic press, also report positively on the deal, saying that it is a victory for the UK government. Dr Suzanne Kingston BL will examine the legal detail in the agreement to see what it actually says and its implications for the boarder between North and South.
