NodeBots Day in Houston!

Use node to program hardware!

Let's get together on this holy day known as international NodeBots Day and have the time of our lives getting our hands dirty with Arduinos, LEDs, solder, breadboards, servos, humidity sensors...

If you've coded with jQuery or JavaScript,

you will be able to program Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, and even communicate wirelessly using Z-Wave and Zigbee standards. Come build and program your first robot using node, hack away at your home automation project, learn about different sensors, check out cool projects, or anything else you can imagine!

How?

Libraries like Johnny Five, Cylon.js, and node-serialport means we can start with an npm install.

Check out some cool projects here!

What to bring?

Your energy, and curiosity! And also Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, Beagle Bones, Spark Cores, motors, LEDs, breadboards, etc. If you don't have these things, that's okay -- we'll have some on hand for you to borrow or purchase.

We will have soldering irons, small components, some spare breadboards, and other tools available to us, some through TX/RX Labs -- our awesome hackerspace host!
