“Cloud Computing Skill Development in Europe” - Webinar series 1/5
HUB4CLOUD, a coordination and support action that aims to help grow the impact and relevance of Cloud Computing research, innovation, skills and policy-driven efforts, while accelerating its adoption and deployments in Europe. The COVID-19 crisis highlighted how digitalisation is crucial to ensure our society and economy can still function also in extreme emergency cases and how cloud technologies play an essential role to ensure private and public service resiliency. A major obstacle to overcome though is the capability for organisations and citizens to quickly uptake on those digital skills that are needed to understand, adopt and use such technologies. The role European Cloud Computing projects and the outcomes they generate can play in skills development/upskilling and education, especially when it comes to advanced cloud technologies, is fundamental for the future of Europe and for the realisation of its data and industrial strategy.
In order to facilitate this, HUB4CLOUD is launching the “Cloud Computing Skills Development in Europe” webinar series. Through this series of 5 webinars, we will discuss and learn from the different players in the market (industries, SMEs and startups, academia, online courses platforms and individuals) about the European cloud computing skills gap and ways to bridge them. This activity will focus on exploring the needs for CC skills, training needs and opportunities in the next 5 to 10 years and retro-feed them into roadmapping and policy recommendations.
