Impulse AF Workshop

Workshop Overview

6:30-9:00pm

The Severn Suite

Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCGs, in collaboration with West Midlands Academic Health Science Network (WMAHSN) welcome you to the Impulse AF Workshop, supporting practices to achieve the PCCF Standard 6: Cardiovascular disease.

The aim of these workshops is to highlight the role that primary care professionals can play in reducing the complications associated with a long-term condition such as atrial fibrillation (AF). Undiagnosed AF can lead to potentially devastating, debilitating and often fatal strokes, which are preventable in two-thirds of patients if they are appropriately anticoagulated. Poorly managed AF, in terms of anticoagulation, symptom control, and co-morbidities can lead to poor outcomes in the longer term.

This workshop will highlight how all sectors of the primary care workforce (GPs, nurses and pharmacists) can contribute to the detection and management of AF.

A working dinner will be provided at 6:30 for a 7pm start time.

Free parking is available on site
