
Intro Riding Course

This is a 3-day riding course for beginners, held at Flemish Farm Light Cavalry HAC stables.

The aim of this course is to: (i) equip you with basic knowledge in horsemanship; (ii) get you able to tack up and handle a horse comfortably and safely; and (iii) teach basic riding skills so you are able to pass the official Introductory A test from the British Horse Society.
This course could be taken by absolute beginners and/or those who have limited experience of horse riding. It is also suitable for polo riders who want to learn the basics of dressage.
It will include three modules: (i) Monday 3 - twice 1h riding lesson (walk) in indoor school incl. tutoring on handling horse and tacking up; (ii) Tuesday 4 - twice 1h riding lesson in indoor school focusing on trot; and (iii) Wednesday 5 - 1h lesson to practice the Introductory A test in the morning, and in the afternoon - Introductory A test scored by an independent judge.
Tuition will be provided by Caroline Quested BHSAI, stable manager at the Light Cavalry HAC. Basic course handbook compiled by the riding master and rosettes for all entrants.

Light lunches will be provided each day. Military personnel and civilians both very welcome.
Price: £200. Minimum 3, maximum 5 people per lesson, the course can accommodate up to 10 entrants overall (duplicating each 1h riding lessons).
HAC Saddle Club will contribute £150 for the organisation of this event so minimum of £15 subsidy per person is being committed.
