Global Diversity CFP Day Amsterdam 2020

Are you a member of an underrepresented or marginalised group? Have you always wanted to become a tech conference speaker? Let 2020 be the year that you make that dream a reality!

Call For Proposals (CFP)

"Call for Proposals" (also known as “Call for Papers”) is the term used to define the initial phase during which events’ or conferences’ organizers look for speakers. Proposals are an outline of what you'd like to talk about and help organisers choose talks for their events.

Global diversity CFP day is here to help you craft that proposal and reduce any worry you may have when submitting it.

Sign up for Global Diversity CFP Day - Amsterdam chapter

On Saturday, January 18th 2020 will take place the third edition of the Global Diversity CFP Day event - Amstedam chapter, following the success of the previous year when 81 workshops took place!

There will be numerous workshops hosted around the globe aimed to encourage and advise newbie speakers to put together their very first talk proposal and share their own individual perspective on any subject of interest to people in tech.

Each workshop will have experienced speakers on hand to:

  • give you a warm, inclusive welcome in a safe space (check out our Code of Conduct which all participants must adhere to)
  • mentor you with your proposal(s)
  • provide speaking advice
  • and share their enthusiasm to get you to the stage!

Subject Matter

These workshops have no specific language, framework or process as a focus. Even if your talk isn’t even related to tech we want to hear from you too! In short, if there is something that you want to shout to the world we're here to help you get there regardless of the boundaries of technology or communities.

Agenda

You can find a preliminary schedule here.

This schedule is subject to change, so please check back this event page.

Material

You will be drafting your talk proposal, bio and discussing ideas with amazing people. To make sure you will be getting the most out of it, you should definitely bring pen and paper, maybe a laptop.
