The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club and Durham County Library presents a FREE Digital Literacy Class
Join us at The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club on Friday, August 12, 2016 located at 909 Liberty Street Durham NC 27701 for an interactive free workshop for students between the ages of 14-18. We'll give students a computer of their own to work with, so they can put lessons into action afterward.
We'll provide hands-on training from technology and business professionals. Students will hear about how computers impact a variety of jobs and career paths. We'll talk about the history of technology, how it impacts our everyday expectations, tips for writing quality resumes, tricks for giving good interviews, and how to leave a positive digital footprint online.
The session includes tips on how students can build career paths and achieve their goals with technology. We’ll cover:
What's inside a computer?
How can I turn my passion into a career and land the job I want?
How will technology change our careers and the world around us?
How can I use software and social media to change the future?
