Blacktocats Launch: Universe Mixer

GitHub’s annual user conference, Universe, is just around the corner, and we're excited to announce the launch of the company's first employee resource group (ERG)—Blacktocats! We’re inviting members of the community to join us for a special mixer to celebrate our launch at GitHub HQ on Tuesday, October 10th 5 pm-8 pm PT.

As GitHub’s first ERG, we’ve been focused on generating maximum impact within GitHub. However, we believe that partnering with other blacks in tech can help us better leverage our collective influence in the industry more effectively. The goal of the mixer is to get us all together to build community over food, drinks, and music. Our launch mixer will also feature a panel discussion with Silicon Valley venture capitalist Laurence "Lo" Toney and leaders of tech ERGs that covers topics like:

• improving collaborative work among black tech groups from across the Valley
• sharing key learnings from existing ERGs
• effecting change across the industry
