Cook, Canoe, Craft 2024

This event is open to Guide & Ranger units and Young Leaders - maximum of 16 per unit accompanied by a minimum of two leaders. 

(If you book a smaller number of places your unit will be mixed with other units to get to groups of 16 girls for the water activities)

Cost: £28 per Guide/Ranger/YL (plus pocket money for souvenir shop and snacks).

Time: This is an all day event, there are 3 staggered arrival/departure times, you will be allocated times once bookings close. (Groups will be allocated one of these time slots 9.15am until 3.45pm, 9.30am until 4pm OR 9.45pm until 4.15pm)

Place: Paxmead Riverside Base, Dockett Eddy Lane, Shepperton, TW17 9NT.

Dress: Guide uniform/wet water wear (see kit list which will be issued with further information after the closing date), hot drinks will be freely available all day but everyone will need to bring a packed lunch. 

The day involves a mix of wet/dry activities – and of course the famous Cardboard Canoe Competition (rules for the competition will be included with further information)

Activities : The day will be spilt into thirds. 
1. Water activities: the chance to try paddleboarding and kayaking (all river/weather depending so subject to change depending on conditions)  2. Bushcraft: this will be run by an external bushcraft company and will include campfire lighting/cooking, leather and wood work.  3. Crafts: each unit will be required to bring a craft activity on the day that the girls will be able to free flow around. Ideas and budget available to support this. (If you are attending scoutabout this year then repeating your activity you used for this could be a good option) 

Places are limited so will be allocated on a first come, first served basis .
