Getner Barn Summer Camp 2022
Welcome to Getner Barn summer camp 2022! We are all very excited to have you here. Below we will give you some reminders of protocols and also what your child should be bringing to camp for the week.
All riders should be equipped with their own riding helmet, gloves, pants, and boots. If your child does not have any of these items please make sure to have them before the first day of camp otherwise they may not be able to participate. We do not loan out equipment. Bike and ski helmets are not acceptable. If you are looking for a place to purchase items you have not yet bought they can be purchased at Dover Saddlery in Ridgefield Connecticut.
Please make sure riders with long hair wear a low ponytail or braid. Hair must be pulled back at all times. In their bag for camp make sure they have plenty of fluids and a small snack, raincoat, towel, sunscreen, and bug spray.
We will break for a snack after the riding lesson.
Each week of camp is $620. A minimum payment of $350 per week is due the day of registration for each week booked and is payable via cash, check, or Venmo. You can reach out to Michelle directly at 203-451-2521 to make the initial payment. If you haven't made your initial deposit within a day of registration, your spot will be lost.
* This form is only for scheduling purposes.
Camp begins at 8:30 am and ends at 12:30 pm. Parents, please drop off your child at the gate when you arrive between 8:20 am and 8:30 am. No one is to be dropped off prior to those times.
Please be mindful of applying sunscreen for your child prior to camp each morning.
If you have a balance due please make sure you have cash or check payable to Kathleen Meenan. Any balance due should be brought on the first day of camp. If you are bringing in payment we will collect it at the gate.
Campers should stay home if they are exhibiting illness, fever, headache sore throat, or cough. We can reschedule the camp day.
All campers will have their temperature checked before entering. A temperature of 100 degrees or higher will not be permitted at camp.
All campers and staff have access to soap water and hand sanitizer.
Since we are outdoors masks are not required but we support campers who wish to wear them. We will continue to practice social distancing.
If the weather calls for rain camp is still on please make sure your child brings a raincoat that she or he can wear when they ride.
We can’t wait to see you Monday morning for the start of camp.
You are welcome to bring treats for the horses. They like Miss pastures cookies, German horse cookies, carrots, and apples.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
Thank you, Michelle and the Staff at Getner Barn 203-451-2521
