Film Noir Fest 2024

Please note change of dates.

Film Noir UK invites everyone to indulge in a weekend of danger, desire, and despair with Film Noir Fest 2024.

Set in the heart of Weston-super-Mare, Film Noir Fest is the UK's only film festival dedicated to showcasing the many aspects of film noir and classic crime films on the big screen.

Spread over the course of one weekend (1st-3rd November), at Weston’s famous Plaza Cinema, Film Noir Fest gives audiences the option to see a wide selection of 20+ films on two separate cinema screens.

There will be a number of screenings of classic film noir titles covering our main 'Dangerous Divas' strand including Out of the Past (1947) starring Robert Mitchum and Jane Greer.

On top of that, the festival will delve back in the origins of British film noir with two versions of Alfred Hitchcock's classic Blackmail (1929). Audiences will be able to see the silent version with live musical by composer and broadcaster Neil Brand as well as the UK Premiere of the brand new restoration of the sound version with thanks to Studio Canal.

Film Noir Fest will also give audiences a rare chance to see a selection of Noir titles from 1950s Mexico, including a forgotten noir gem from legendary director Luis Buñuel and a selection of brand new restorations of gems starring the great Ninón Sevilla including Víctimas del Pecado (Victims of Sin/1950), Aventurera (Adventuress/1950) and Llévame en tus Brazos (Take Me in Your Arms/ 1954).

Much more to be announced in the next few weeks with titles connected to the festival's Dangerous Divas, London Noir, Lauren Bacall 100 and Lee Marvin 100 strands very soon...
