EU-Africa Waste Management VET Knowledge Transfer Workshop 2023

GreenVETAfrica, an ERASMUS+ VET project, coordinated by AREA, an SME based in Udine (Italy), is designing and piloting an innovative capacity building programme on Green Waste Management in Nigeria and Ghana.

The objective of the EU-Africa Waste Management VET Knowledge Transfer Workshop is to present and discuss with educational and waste management experts the initial results of the project, namely:

  • the green waste management sector skill gaps analysis conducted in Nigeria and Ghana
  • the analysis of available VET programmes in Europe and West Africa
  • the GreenVETAfrica training programme



The purpose of the workshop is to:

  • foster knowledge and collaboration between European and African stakeholders
  • foster the adoption of GreenVETAfrica training programme



Among the panel of professionals actively participating in the working table there will be:

  • Flavio Gabrielcig, Director of the Disciplinary Service for Waste Management and Polluted Sites, Central Directorate of the FVG Regional Administration;
  • Alessio Scarpa, General Manager for Environment, Safety and Plants of NET SPA, a public single utility company in Friuli Venezia Giulia that carries out the integrated management of urban waste;
  • Dr. Federico Venturini from the University of Udine, part of the regional project "Zero Waste and Tourism Sustainability";
  • Prof. Giulio Armano, Director of the Bearzi Professional Training Centre (Salesian Professional Training Centre based in Udine)
