Neustadt Christmas Market & Hambach Castle

This Saturday, ESN Heidelberg takes you to the Christmas Market in Neustadt an der Weinstraße. As there is also a pretty castle close to there, we would like to combine the trip with a small hike to Hambach Castle, which also played an important role in German history. The walk takes about 1h. At the castle, we will have some time to take pictures and explore the area before heading back. After our time at the castle, we will spend the afternoon/evening at the Christmas Markets in Hambach and Neustadt. Both are on the route, so no additional walking is required ;) In order to warm up with some cups of Glühwein or some of our typical/ traditional Weihnachtsmarkt-food, make sure to bring some cash. We intend to be back in Heidelberg between 9.30 and 10.30 pm (so you can still hit some Bars afterwards). If you want to get back earlier, there is a train going back to Heidelberg every 30 minutes (the train ride takes 1 hour more or less). Please make sure to dress warm enough, as we will be outside for the duration of the whole trip!

According to the new Corona regulation we have to ask for a negative test in addition to your vaccination/recovery certificate. The test has to be not more than 24h old at the time that the trip starts.
