Cannstatter Wasen Volksfest
Hey beer lovers!
We present to you our day trip to the Cannstatter Wasen. On Sunday, 29th of September we want to take you to Stuttgart for a traditional German Volksfest. This is a huge beer festival, very similar to the world-famous Oktoberfest (which I’m sure you’ve heard of).
The first Cannstatter Wasen took place in 1818 and it is one of the biggest beer festivals in Europe! We have a limited amount of tickets, so be quick!
Meeting Time: 13:00
Meeting Point: Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (main station)
TICKET Information:
- 3,00 € (without transportation)
What is included? The ticket only includes a seat at one of the tables we booked for this event. It does not include transportation or drinks and food but we will get a 2 for 1 Voucher for beer (14,10 € per 1l beer, according to their website).
IMPORTANT:
- Make sure to bring cash
- don’t bring very large bags or backpacks, as they might not let you in with a big bag
- you might want to bring a plastic bag for your phone and/or jacket, so it doesn’t get wet
TRANSPORTATION:
As most of you probably already have a Deutschlandticket or Baden-Württemberg-Ticket, we decided not to include transportation. We will be taking regional trains only, so both of those tickets will be valid for the journey back and forth. Make sure you buy your ticket before the trip!
We will meet at 13:00 at the Hauptbahnhof in HD to take the train at 13:15. We will have to change trains so please be on time and listen to our fellow ESNers Florian and Luca. We don't want you to get lost. When you buy your ticket on Tito, there will be a link to a Whatsapp group. Please join the group chat to get all of the information you need on the day. We will arrive at around 3 pm. The tents open at 5 pm so before that you will have time to explore the festivities. Any further information will follow in the group chat.
