EPA Climate Change Lecture 2021

Direct the money: how does finance become an enabler of a climate neutral economy and society?

Wednesday 24 February, 2021 @ 7.15pm

The EPA, as part of the National Dialogue on Climate Action, will host an online public lecture. Dr Kristen Dunlop will set out how EIT Climate-KIC is investing systemically to change whole places and economic sectors, how it is matching the available pools of capital to the need – such as ‘cities as an asset class’ for investment – and how we can avoid an oversupply of capital to ‘green-designated’ assets to ensure that investment is also flowing to transition-based assets and businesses in hard-to-abate sectors. All of this to answer the following context-specific question: How can financial services be mobilised to deliver systemic change in Ireland?

Invited Guest Speaker: Dr Kirsten Dunlop, CEO,  EIT Climate-KIC (Knowledge Innovation Community)
