Join us to discuss the outcomes of COP26, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Annual Report 6, Professor Mann’s book “The New Climate War” and the implications globally and for Ireland.
Efforts to attack and deny the scientific evidence have constituted a major impediment to climate action over the past two decades. There is great urgency in acting and there is also great agency. In this lecture, Prof. Mann will discuss what we can do to fight back, emphasising the importance of both urgency and agency in efforts to save our planet.
Invited Guest Speaker: Professor Michael Mann, Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric Science Director, Earth System Science Center
Prof. Michael Mann, Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric Science and Director of the Earth System Science Centre at Penn State University, USA. Prof. Mann’s research covers the reconstruction of past climate, modelling/data comparisons, use of theoretical models in the simulation of climate change. Professor Mann’s recent book “The New Climate War: the fight to take back our planet” was published earlier this year.
The evening will be chaired by Dr John Bowman
