The Film Friendly Texas and Digital Media Friendly Texas Virtual Workshop
Learn more about the media production industries of Texas and how to get your community Film Friendly Texas or Digital Media Friendly Texas certified — or both! Sign up today – online registration is open for the combined Virtual Workshop on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
The Texas Film Commission's Film Friendly Texas and Digital Media Friendly Texas programs provide ongoing training and guidance to statewide community leaders on how to prepare their communities to understand the opportunities, and embrace the economic benefits, of media production.
The fee for attending this half-day workshop is $25.00 (per person).
The target audience for this workshop will be community representatives affiliated with local government organizations who will serve as the community’s point-of-contact for facilitating media production requests. Most communities will choose a member of their city government, Convention and Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce or Economic Development Corporation to attend. Workshop attendance by a community’s designated liaison is a required, even if your community has already been Film Friendly Texas Certified, as it is important for new liaisons to have up to date information. Additional representatives from your community are also welcome to attend.
This workshop will provide presentations from Texas Film Commission staff addressing topics such as:
- How to become Film Friendly Texas Certified.
- How to become Digital Media Friendly Texas Certified.
- Media production as an economic development opportunity for your community.
- What to expect when working with different types of media productions.
- How to create filming guidelines and permit systems for your community.
- How to take and submit photos of potential filming locations in your community.
- Understanding location agreements, production insurance and other documents.
- What are the Digital Media industries and their unique business needs?
Registrations close on Friday, November 8, 2024. The Virtual Workshop sessions will begin Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 9:30AM Central Time and conclude by 12:45PM Central Time.
