Additional Information

Talks

John Sutherland @sneeu on Functional Programming in Practice (or Don't Write Code Like This), a follow on from John's Scotland JS talk

James Andrews on a (recursive) descent into madness: an experimental, and largely insane, approach to tackling callback hell in node.js by utterly abusing the JavaScript type system

Schedule

Doors open at 6:30pm, with the first talk beginning at 7pm. Food will arrive somewhere in between, and there will be a break between talks for Q&A and discussion. Aiming to finish before 9pm, we will retire to a local (quiet) pub for further discussion.

Location

FreeAgent offices on Torphichen St, there'll be someone hanging around the front entrance to let you in.

Sponsors

Big thanks to our sponsors RightScale for providing food, they're hiring front-end JavaScript engineers among other positions. Also FreeAgent for providing venue and drinks this month.

Interesting in speaking?

We're looking for speakers at future events, whether it's a 20-30min talk or a 5 minute show and tell. You don't need to be an expert or an experienced speaker, just enthusiasm for something that interests you. If you fancy it, please get in touch with me on rory@fitzpatrick.fm or grab me on the night.
