EdinburghJS January 2014

EdinburghJS is a casual event, presenting short talks and a chance for discussion with other local JavaScripters, whatever your experience or job title is.

This month we're teaming up with the AngularJS meetup due to scheduling overlap. There may only be one organised talk so the format will be somewhat flexible, if you have anything you want to share or AngularJS questions you want to ask, please do so on the night!

Bring a laptop if you want to hack on something with others, there will be time to do so after the talk.

You can find out more about the AngularJS meetup on their meetup page, it happens every month like EdinburghJS and is a small and informal environment to talk all things Angular.

18:30 arrive, eat, drink
19:00 first talk, followed by Q&A

20:00 informal JavaScript/AngularJS chat, impromptu talks (?!?), hack time

Location

CodeBase in Argyle House on the corner of Lady Lawson St and West Port. We meet in the event space on floor L just beside co-working. Please try to arrive between 18:30 and 19:00.

Some folk usually head to a nearby pub after for a couple of drinks and more JavaScript-related discussion. If you just wanna join us for a drink, send a tweet and we'll let you know what time we'll be there!

Sponsors

Big thanks to our sponsors RightScale and FanDuel for providing tasty food and drinks, they're both hiring front-end JavaScript developers among other positions. Also to our venue CodeBase for providing the event space.

Interesting in speaking?

We're looking for speakers at future events, whether it's 20-30mins or a 5 minute lightning talk. You don't need to be an expert or an experienced speaker, just enthusiasm for something that interests you. Please get in touch with me on rory@fitzpatrick.fm or grab me on the night, I'll be happy to talk through any ideas/concerns you have or put you in touch with someone that can.

Code of Conduct

Long story short: Be awesome to each other.

Our goal is to have an awesome and inclusive community meetup where people meet, hang out together, chat, listen to talks, exchange ideas and make new friends. Any harmful or discriminating behaviour will not be tolerated and results in the offending person being expelled from the meetup.
