Editor of the Employment Law Report, Paul D Maier BL, will discuss and invite attendees to analyse the decisions in the most recently-published edition of the ELR, [2025] 36 E.L.R. 4. The issue focuses on cases which might have gone unnoticed without their being reported, but which will have a significant impact on the practice of employment law for the years to come.
This talk will discuss the following recent cases:

The talk will run for approximately 40 minutes and will be followed with 20 minutes for Q&A and general discussion.
It is suitable for all members of the Bar of Ireland, including experienced and novice employment practitioners. Junior members of the Bar in years 1-3 are particularly invited to attend to learn about the practice of employment law generally and opportunities to be reporters, contributors and authors in the Irish Employment Law Journal and Employment Law Report.
At the end of the presentation, participants will have a better understanding how the law is currently being applied in the WRC, Labour Court and High Court, and the influence caselaw from statutory employment tribunals can have on the practice of employment law generally.
