Sign Neologism Workshop

The Sign Neologisms workshop, organized by the EASIER project, will bring together experts from different domains (interpreting, translation, linguistics, STEM fields, education, etc.) to discuss the process of sign creation and issues (linguistic, ethical, procedural) that arise from lexical gaps in sign languages. The all-day workshop will consist of 5-6 presentations, discussion periods, and an exhibition/poster session.

We invite academics and other professionals, such as interpreters/translators, post-editing providers, educators, lexicographers, etc., to participate in an exhibition/poster session. Presentations should address how neologisms are approached in their work (see questions below). There is no fee to attend the workshop, but registration is required, using this web form.

If workshop registration exceeds capacity (~30 participants in addition to presenters and EASIER project partners), then priority will go to those who participate in the exhibition/poster session.
