Speaker: Johnathan Law


Speaker Bio: Johnathan is a Senior Developer Relations Manager at Matillion, a Data Productivity Cloud Platform and services, where he helps businesses unlock value from their data and enhance data team productivity. A 2015 graduate of the University of Dundee with a First Class BSc in Applied Computing, Johnathan has remained in Dundee, where he lives with his wife and three cats. With a focus on professional development, growth, and scalable efficiencies, Johnathan brings a person-centered approach to his work. His interests span technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and project management. In his free time, he enjoys reading, movies, music, travel, and the occasional video game. Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2024, Johnathan approaches this new challenge with the same determination he brings to his professional life. Johnathan welcomes connections through the social links below and is always open to a chat – especially over coffee for those passing through Dundee!


Topic 2: When AI & Data Meets Education: How Leximos is Revolutionizing Language Learning

Speaker: Sayed Murad and Parisa Pourmohammad


Speakers Bio:

Speaker 1: Murad the founder of Leximos, is an AI Engineer and language teacher he completed his master in computer science from university of dundee. He has volunteered with UNHCR across the Indian subcontinent, teaching language and computer literacy to asylum seekers, helping them access higher education. Murad also founded Vision Academy, a non-profit organization dedicated to language education for refugees and access programs.

Murad is passionate about data and AI, particularly their potential to enhance education for all communities, especially minorities and marginalized groups. He believes that there are untapped talents within these communities—potentially the next Einstein or Stephen Hawking—who just need an opportunity. Committed to bridging educational barriers, Murad uses his AI expertise to address the gatekeeping role of English in accessing education. With Leximos, he aims to bridge these gaps, fostering human understanding and communication through language acquisition.


Speaker 2: Parisa, the co-founder of Leximos, comes from a scientific background and combined it with business in her master's degree at the University of Dundee. She views teaching language as a bridge that can lead people to their dreams, create a better life, and help them achieve what they deserve.
