Presenting Community Qualitative Data: Lessons from Moray Mental Wealth
This talk uses Moray Mental Wealth as a case study to show how community experiences were translated into an interactive digital platform. It will cover decisions around data mapping, interface design, and the challenges of visualising human experiences.
The project was developed through multiple user workshops. Haiyin will also reflect on which feedback improved the product, which suggestions added unnecessary complexity, and how to make practical decisions when user needs and technical constraints conflict.
Speaker Bios
Haiyin Xu, Independent Web Developer
Haiyin is an independent web developer based in Dundee and currently works with Science Ceilidh as a Technical Developer Contractor. She builds accessible digital tools, interactive maps and data visualisations for community and cultural organisations. She is also a leader of AWS User Group North East Scotland.
