Presentations

DRAM is a not-for-profit resource providing scholarly communities with access to lossless audio recordings, liner notes and interpretive essays from independent record labels and sound archives. DRAM's partner labels include leading proponents of American music (from the 1860s to the present, including First Persons and Black spiritual music), experimental and contemporary "New Music", improvisation, jazz, and sound art.

With nearly 200 institutional subscribers around the world, DRAM's primary focus is the preservation and dissemination of important recordings that have been neglected by the commercial marketplace, recordings that may otherwise become lost or forgotten.

Presented from the perspective of a site builder and front-end developer, Jason discusses merging content and media to Drupal 9  from multiple sources including a custom Python application (MySQL), an existing Drupal 8 project (JSON), text files, and MARC records (XML).

This project was generously supported by a National Endowment for the Humanities CARES Act grant.

Jason Loeffler is program director and lead (and only!?) developer for DRAM. A Drupal site builder and front-end developer since 2014, Jason has developed multilingual sites for the American Academy in Rome, electronic finding aids for the Robert Wilson Archive, and and co-developed public websites for the Oregon Arts Commission, The SoHo Memory Project, and the Fading Empire recording label.

Joining the video conference
