Better Care in the Age of Automation

How can data and technologies support a sustainable, effective, fair care system?

Tech-supported care is coming. From digitised records to telecare and smart homes, tech is poised to transform the UK social care system. But how can we ensure it works in the best interests of everyone?

Since the beginning of the year, we’ve been speaking with those on the frontline of care; people with care and support needs, people who care for loved ones, care professionals, clinicians, providers, commissioners, researchers and innovators to understand their experiences, needs, fears and hopes for the future.

From these discussions we've created short films, and explored the gaps in current care data and the ways we could improve it in Better Evidence for Better Care. We are now setting out the steps we need to take to ensure tech for care is responsible and that it paves the way to a sustainable, fair future.

Join Doteveryone and guests to celebrate our participants’ visions of the future, to discuss our practical recommendations and to build alliances to make technology part of the solution to the UK’s broken care system.

The films and proposals will be discussed by a panel including:

Damian Green, MP for Ashford & Chairperson APPG for Longevity

Vic Rayner, Executive Director, National Care Forum

Karoline Gerlich, CEO of NACAS

Matilda Ibini, award-winning playwright

Edward Humpherson, Director General for Office for Statistics Regulation
