Consequence Scanning Taster Workshop

Do you know how to be a Responsible Innovator?

Technology is an amazing source of wonder that can reshape the world. So you need to be confident about the impact your products will have. Even the best intentions can lead to harm. How can we anticipate the consequences of our technology?

Join us for a special session covering Consequence Scanning: the agile event for Responsible Innovators.

1:30PM - 2:30PM

This workshop will take an existing product (which many of you will be familiar with) and use a variety of lenses to break down the intended and unintended consequences attached. This process enables participants to challenge product design to improve its safety, inclusivity and accessibility.

Additional Information

What is Consequence Scanning?

Consequence Scanning is an agile process designed to be adaptable and fit in with how you already work as a team. Itโ€™s lightweight and simple to understand, yet will challenge your team to think differently. You need to proactively design for the consequences of technology โ€“ from user understanding through to security breaches and environmental impact. Consequence Scanning will provide you with the opportunity to focus on the positive aspects of a product and mitigate or address potential harms or disasters before they happen.

Who should attend this workshop?

Anyone who's interested in making technology more responsible, inclusive and accessible for society. This workshop is aimed at challenging product design but that doesn't only include product designers. Our research shows that the conversations around responsibility within technology are coming from all levels of tech professionals, from marketing to engineering and C-suite to distributor.

I can't make this session, but I want to be a Responsible Innovator.

That's great news because we're building a community of Responsible Innovators and we want you to be a part of it.

All the materials needed to use Consequence Scanning yourself are available on the TechTransformed platform, alongside other practical and actionable resources. Theyโ€™re quick to get started and easy to understand so you can stop talking about tech ethics and start changing how technology is made.

You can join our community by signing up to hear more news about TechTransformed tools, events and training in the future, and by following @doteveryone on Twitter to keep up while we work to make responsible technology the new normal.
