About this Story

PhD students Mark Cummins and James Philbin built an image recognition search engine, PlinkArt, and just a few months after launching, sold it to Google. He then spent 3 years in California working at Google, but then came back to Ireland to launch a new startup, Pointy, which enables small shops to go online effortlessly.

Mark Cummins, Co-Founder of Pointy.

Co-founder of Pointy, an app that shows you which local stores sell that item you're looking for. Mark is a University of Oxford graduate in Engineering and Computer Science, and holds a Ph.D. from Oxford in Mobile Robotics.
