Nicola McClafferty, Investment Director, Draper Esprit

In 2011, Nicola co-founded Covetique, an online marketplace for second-hand luxury fashion. Quickly finding product-market fit and growing sales, the company received investment from Asos, the UK’s largest online fashion retailer, in 2012. After shipping to nearly 70 countries and growing her team to 20+ employees, Asos acquired Covetique. Nicola took this opportunity to move back to Dublin and, after reconnecting with old friend Brian Caufield, decided to join the Draper Esprit investment team. Despite that prior to Covetique, Nicola worked in investment banking, she credits her experience as a founder as making her a ”more-rounded investor”.
